"It is most upsetting to lie down on a recently purchased hammock with a cool drink and a copy of your excellent newspaper, only to discover that the hammock has been taught to revolve madly as soon as you lie in it...."
-- Ethelbald Mordaunt to the Daily Prophet (DP1)
In this issue, Ethelbald Mordaunt’s letter complains about the antics of his neighbour, Elladora Guffy, who thinks it fun to torment him by putting “amusing” spells and charms on his furniture and other household items. He says he will put a copy of a previous Daily Prophet article “Why Dustbins Weren’t Meant to Kick” under her doormat as a hint that her behaviour is unacceptable.
It is not stated whether there is a prize for being the Star Letter of the day (DP1).
From the pompous tone of his letter, you could infer that Mr Mordaunt isn't a particularly good neighbour to have next door to you either.
Although the date printed on the first Daily Prophet Newsletter (DP1) is 31 July 1998, the timeframe for this event is 1992-1993.
