- Chapter 30

"It unscrews the other way." - Minerva McGonagall to Peeves (OP30)

OP30: Grawp

Harry recalls the dream again, the Gryffindors play Ravenclaw for the final match of the Quidditch season, and Hagrid introduces Harry and Hermione to his half-brother, Grawp, making them promise to look after Grawp if he has to leave. Gryffindor wins the match and the Quidditch Cup, and Ron is carried triumphantly off the pitch.

Calendar and Dates

The chapter briefly spends some time discussing the weeks following Easter break, with unknown dates.  Then - finally! - a hard fact: we are told that the Quidditch match takes place "on the last weekend in May," or May 30 by the calendar the school year has been following.

Memorable lines

A week after Fred and George's departure Harry witnessed Professor McGonagall walking right past Peeves, who was determinedly loosening a crystal chandelier, and could have sworn he heard her tell the poltergeist out of the corner of her mouth, "It unscrews the other way."
